If you are on the lookout for a new sofa, then have you thought about a Futon? A Futon, for those who don't know is a kind of sofa bed. Sofa beds are a multipurpose piece of furniture. Sofa beds allow you to make the most of your space in your home. The Futon is also the same idea as a sofa bed, but in my opinion, not so comfortable! Your typical sofa bed has big fat cushions and folds out to make a normal bed, the Futon however, has a very thin mattress and once it's folded out, it does not become a soft double bed at all.
Part of the reason for a Futon to be harder than a normal bed is as a health benefit. There is a preconception that lying on a firmer mattress is better for your back than on a nice big squashy mattress. I myself will always prefer the comfort level of a softer mattress compared to the harsh thin Futon mattress. My girlfriend on the other hand does actually like a harder mattress and has spent over £1000 (about 00) on our mattress as it is a special one. My girlfriend would probably like the firmness of a futon, but I am lucky as she has spent so much on the new mattress, that she will probably not want to purchase a new bed, so hopefully a Futon will be out of the question.
Leather Futon Sofa
A lot of Chiropractors do actually agree that there are health benefits to using a Futon instead of a bed, but this does not mean that you should definitely buy a Futon as there are many mattresses which can offer the same support.
